CALL ME DUSTY

The story of Dusty Springfield - a powerful drama with music

Without doubt the finest white soul singer of her era, Dusty Springfield is for millions the definitive pop diva. Her lifestyle was the stuff of legend – and great drama. Call Me Dusty celebrates the music, while exploring the dichotomy of the private person and her alter ego. It is not a musical, but a play with music. The actress playing Dusty does not have to be a singer because all the music used in the show is commercially available recorded music, of Dusty Springfield and others, and therefore covered by PRS.  Available as a three-hander or a full cast version - 6m, 6f (with doubling)

THE LADY VANISHES

The classic Hitchcock film brought to the stage in a new comedy thriller adaptation

The classic 1938 Hitchcock film The Lady Vanishes was based on a novel called The Wheel Spins by Ethel Lina White. This stage adaptation goes back to the original novel nd tries as much as possible to capture the 1930s feel of the original. Much of the comedy will be derived from playing up to the attitude of those mid-war years in terms of character and accent. The play has been written so that there is a continuous sense of action, moving seamlessly from one scene to the next as far as possible. 9F, 8M (8F, 5M with doubling)
