Message from members The Attic Players

The Attic Players have circulated this message:

At a meeting on Sunday 12th October members of the Attic Players regretfully decided that all scheduled productions in the near future will have to be postponed until the current building work on Cawdor Hall is completed to a stage where we feel the access and conditions of the Theatre are more acceptable.

In the early stages of the building work we were assured there would be no impact on our group but it has become increasingly obvious that this is not the case. We were fortunate to be able to perform Noises Off in August and host three “CinemAttic” film screenings despite scaffolding and open windows, however as conditions have deteriorated outside and inside while evenings are becoming darker and colder it has become too difficult to ensure our audience's safety and comfort. We have tried to work around the upheaval and disruption, but feel that the quality and creativity of our presentation is being compromised beyond acceptable limits.

We thank our patrons and audiences for their patience and continued support during this temporary closure, and look forward to welcoming you all back to the Theatre when we re-open. Although King Arthur will no longer be performed in December as planned, rehearsals will continue so that the show can be rescheduled as soon as the building is ready. CinemAttic screenings will also recommence then as part of our spectacular relaunch! We will keep you updated via all our usual channels.
