Youth Theatre
DAW helps promote work with young people by assisting in founding and sustaining youth theatre companies. We also run courses and workshops to help improve young people’s skill levels and enjoyment.
We have many youth groups as members of DAW, and we have a special section in the library with plays for young people, ranging from participatory shows for small children to challenging topical work for older youth groups.
Our annual One Act Playwriting competition includes a category for new Youth Plays, and this is a useful source of new writing for young people. Winning entries in the competition are automatically considered for publication by DAW (though please note: publication isn’t guaranteed).
